The Mitre Manchester
Set in the heart of Manchester city centre, at the foot of the picturesque Cathedral Gates, The Mitre boasts beautiful original architectural features oozing with style and charm.
Built in 1815 it stands as one of the oldest and most popular city centre hotels and has recently transformed into a truly stunning boutique hotel and pub, blending old with new.
Think feature walls and bold pieces, a juxtaposition that stays true to the classic nature of the building.
The Mitre is the prefect place for drinking after a hard day's shopping with its location being only a stone's throw from the famous shopping havens of Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, not to mention the vast selection of high street favourites.
Perfect for a visit on your night out, The Mitre is close to The Printworks entertainment complex and the affluent Deansgate, a popular celebrity hang out, where you‘ll find fine dining and exclusive cocktail bars.
If sports your thing then the Mitre is a perfect venue for watching sporting events with eight Televisions all showing Sky Sports/BT Sports and in house pool table.

The Mitre Reviews

"The area around Exchange Square, or 'The Millennium Quarter' as it was dubbed following its (re)creation after the 1996 IRA bomb devastated what previously stood here, is one of the best for drinking in Manchester.

"The triangle of historic pubs, Sinclairs Oyster Bar, The Old Wellington and the recently refurbished Mitre, is one of Manchester's tourist highlights.
"Overlooked for so long by its two much busier neighbours, the re-invented Mitre has seriously thrown itself back into the mix and offers a completely different drinking experience to the area, whilst still embracing its historic setting.
"Plush velvet seating and funky chandeliers contrast lovingly with the Georgian architecture, which dates back to the year Wellington finally defeated Napolean, and the altered windows open up a view of the Manchester Wheel and the cathedral.
"An additional bar, in the backroom, boasts a beautiful fireplace and tropical fish tank whilst the hotel upstairs has also been modernised and offers the perfect place to sleep off that hangover." ~ ManchesterBars.com (June 2011)
