Kirsty Howard will be opening Manchester’s newest bar, Avalanche, with an invitation-only James Bond-themed party on Thursday November 22nd as part of a high-profile fundraising gala for the Kirsty Club, a campaign dedicated to supporting the Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Imagine There's No Hunger At Hard Rock
Hard Rock Cafe have launched a global campaign titled "Imagine There's No Hunger", in support of WHYhunger who help in the fight against hunger and poverty through the support of sustainable agriculture, education, and feeding programmes for children in need throughout the world.

Chalet Bar
A Manchester Winter Wonderland
This year’s Manchester Ice Rink and Winter Wonderland village is set to be bigger than in previous years.
The open air ice rink in Spinningfields, which runs from 22nd November until the 6th of January, is not the only attraction. Skaters and spectators alike are able to keep in festive sprits with a visit to the Chalet Bar which is run by the team behind The Ski Club next door. ~ 16 Nov
 
 
 
Everybody Needs Good Neighbours!
James Hitchen, the 29-year-old entrepeneur behind Southern Eleven, is set to open Neighbourhood, a New York style bar and eatery, on Friday 30th November. Located in Spinningfield's Avenue North precinct, which will also be home to the highly-anticipated Manchester House restaurant, James's second venture includes a 200 cover restaurant inspired by New York's Meatpacking district, offering steaks, live raw shellfish and various recipes representing each Manhatten district. ~ 9th Nov

The Curry Mile
Rusholme Up In Smoke
In the latest bid by Rusholme shisha bars to allow shisha smoking inside venues on The Curry Mile, Manchester City Council bosses have again rejected many ideas put forward as to how smoking inside could be made to comply with the law, including the possibility of using strong extractor fans.
The council meeting was disrupted by a group of bar owners who walked out after 20 minutes in a show of support for one man who was asked to leave. ~ 8th Nov
 
 
 
Angry Passive Smokers in Rusholme
Residents on a quiet residential street in Rusholme are battling plans for a £150,000 shisha cafe. Awais Shahid wants to open the cafe, with a capacity of 100, in the old Kurdistan Restaurant unit on Grandale Street, just off The Curry Mile. If he gets the go ahead the building will need opening up to comply with the smoking ban and he will have to contribute around £10,000 in order to improve car parking in Rusholme. ~ 6th Nov

The Printworks
The Printworks Sold
Resolution Property have sold The Printworks to the UK's largest listed property business, Land Securities, for £93.9 million.
The Printworks attracted over 9 million visitors in 2011 and currently has over 90% of its units let to leisure venues including 19 restaurants, bars and nightclubs including Tiger Tiger, Hard Rock Café and Waxy O'Connors. It also houses a 20-screen Odeon IMAX cinema and a Virgin Active health club. ~ 5th Nov
 
 
 
All Change At Odder
The upstairs at Odder has been transformed into a full 300 capacity club with a complete refit which includes a Funktion-One sound system, providing an intimate party venue.
To go with the refit, the Oxford Road venue has also unveiled a range of club nights Wednesday to Saturdays with a line up that spans the best of hip hop, funk, disco, electro and house. ~ 6th Nov

The Albert Square Chop House bar and restaurant has opened in the Grade II listed Memorial Hall next to the Town Hall. Built in 1866, the stunning building previously The Square Albert has undergone a £3.5m transformation from the same people behind Sam's Chop House and Mr Thomas's Chop House. ~ 7th Nov

Following the recent opening of The Alchemist New York Street, a planning application has been made by Living Ventures to open a third Alchemist at The Green in MediaCityUK, Salford Quays. ~ 9th Nov

From Friday 30th November until Sunday 2nd December, Salvis Mozzarella Bar will be hosting a pop up bar inside the main private dining suite of The Yang Sing restaurant. With live dancing, music and a theatre style kitchen, they'll offer the finest Italian ingredients and wines mixed with Cantonese creativity. ~ 8th Nov
