Step out of the bustle and into the mood-lit bar in the basement of the historic Queens Chambers building.

With all the charm of original Victorian features mixed with a relaxed modern vibe, you can already imagine – this is more than your average drinking den.

Owners Mark Taylor and Gary Kilroy, friends for the best part of three decades, always had a vision for bringing something creative yet unpretentious to the Manchester bar scene. And they’ve done just that.

The team at Arcane opened their doors in April 2016 and have been surprising and delighting even the most seasoned cocktail connoisseurs ever since.

Mark and Gary brought the Grade II listed space back to life, restoring the old brickwork to its former glory and reviving its stunning original features. They created a bar that’s set the bar – a relaxing, cosy space to enjoy an elegant drink or two with friends

As well as keeping their menu fresh with their own mixers, tonics and elixirs, their skilled bartenders are a sight to behold. Their passion for their craft is only matched by their inventiveness. And when it comes to tradition, they’re all too happy to break the rules to create the drink you want, just the way you like it.
