The Rib Joint and Tap room is located on the ground floor of Cane and Grain. With its iconic 80’s skate posters, wall of skate deck tiles and limited edition David Bowie skate deck (given pride of place on a wall of its own), the ground floor bar is an homage to the site’s previous owner - seminal skate shop and free-party venue, Cast.
Food is served from 12-10pm, where you can get the best ribs in town, plus traditional American sides such as homemade cornbread and home roasted jalapeno poppers. The bar stays open till 2am every night; warning, the party can get a little raucous.
There’s a comprehensive drinks list with a heavy emphasis on craft beer. There is a mixture of draught and bottled, with a main focus on products from USA and a few favourites from the UK and around the world.
Those looking for something a little stronger will be happy with the bar’s large stock of bourbon; indeed, they ’ re the exclusive supplier of Tin Cup bourbon in Manchester.
Manchester, try it in the Tin Cup Slushie (yep, that’s a frozen old fashioned, the slushie ’ s gone grown up!). The cocktail list is short, but expertly well made and mainly concentrates on bourbon and rum.
