Gastro’s
Food Hall & Restaurant is a sophisticated and friendly place to
relax, drink & wind down after a busy day at work, shopping, or
for any occasion. The philosophy is you can do whatever you like (within
reason), and with their new cafe bar there's some fantastic drinks
to help. |
Situated
in the bohemian area of Sackville Street, within Manchester's famous
gay village and just 5 minutes walk from the Palace Theatre, Gastro’s
is set in a carefully restored Victorian warehouse. You can overlook
one of the few gardens left in Manchester, or chill on one of their
very comfortable sofas. |
Gastro's
have one of the best wine menus in the city – all very carefully
handpicked for their taste quality, pedigree and ethics and some fantastic
local & organic beers, as well as some award winning international
ones. All the usual (and some unusual) spirits and soft drinks are
also available. |
|
|
Full
table service is provided, they even have some board games and WiFi
is free allowing you to catch up with work and emails. |
Drinkers
in Gastro's Cafe Bar are welcome of course to snack from the highly
rated restaurant menu, whilst coffee and cakes are available all day
and night too. |
Described
by Restaurants Of Manchester as one of the best in town (click
here for the review), the sumptuous restaurant downstairs is open
for lunch and dinner every day. Rick Barlow heads the team in cooking
up the quality, seasonal, fresh and local ingredients with passion
and flair. |
Whatsmore,
all the drinks and food available in the Gastro's Cafe Bar and in
the Restaurant, are also stocked on the shelves of the impressive
food hall upstairs, allowing you to take them home. If you can't find
it here, Gastro's can even source it for you. |
So what are you waiting for? Head down to Gastro's! |

Gastro's
Cafe Bar Reviews |
"Gastro's
is what Manchester has been crying out for! Whilst the likes of
Love Saves The Day have provided a great deli cum cafe, Gastro's
takes the concept one level further - a superb delicatessen with
a great cafe and an amazing restaurant to match
|
Located
in the old Sackville Street warehouse vacated by Gaia, the location
is also in its favour. Just 5 minutes walk from the Palace Theatre
and even closer to the gay village with Piccadilly train station also
a stone's throw away, it's the ideal place to grab some ingredients
on your way home or a top notch meal ahead of your show. |
Whilst
the cafe upstairs offers a great menu and superb pizza's, the food
in the downstairs restaurant is truly fantastic - indeed, a revelation
and almost unexpected from such a laid back welcoming environment. |
Prices
are also worthy of mention, mains ranging from £6.25 to only
£13.95. For locally sourced food of this quality you'd expect
to pay more. If this was a more formal dining environment, it would
probably be widely touted as the best restaurant in town. High praise,
well deserved for this inclusive destination worthy of many a repeat
visit"
