Not to be mistaken with the old gay "bear" bar, which once stood on Whitworth Street, Scottish craft beer giant BrewDog have opened a massive BrewDog Outpost on Oxford Road.
Only their second UK brewpub, it is the first to feature a dedicated beer school and is set over two floors at Manchester Business School, next to the RNCM, in the same University Green development as the new Blackwell’s bookstore, Takk, Friska, Five Guys, Navarro Lounge, Mowgli, and Pret A Manger.

Opened on 21st June 2019, seven years after opening their Peter Street branch - which was only their seventh bar, at the time (now there's over 90 worldwide) - the Oxford Road brew bar joins the BrewDog Outpost in Tower Hill, London, and Itaewon in Seoul.
Pairing craft beer brewed in their main Scottish eco-brewery with one-off, small batch brews created onsite using a 5HL pilot kit, there will be 24 beers on tap from various breweries, including a pair of local taps.
Being surrounded by university buildings, it only seems fitting they have a beer school - with beer classes and brewery tours served up free every day for the first month - whilst students will be interested in their shared workspace option which includes unlimited coffee, Wi-Fi and a pint of Punk IPA.
