Staying Cool Apartments and partner Bespoke Hotels have started work on their new 41 room Cotton Yard apartment hotel located in the former 19th Century cotton finishing yard on the corner of Canal Street and Chorlton Street in the heart of the Gay Village.
The stunning four floor buidling was once home to BBC Great British Menu judge Oliver Peyton’s groundbreaking upmarket brew bar Mash & Air (1996-2000) and then Bar Risa / Jongleurs Comedy Club (2002-2006), with the likes of Pop In and View once occupying the ground floor.

The building, which has remained empty for over a decade, will boast a rooftop extension and a restaurant/bar at ground and basement level.
The work is expected to take a year, with doors opening in September 2020.
