The 200-year-old pub, dating back to 1811, sits on the edge of the redeveloped Cotton Square and has been closed since January 2002, following a huge pitched battle between 100 Wrexham and Oldham fans, which destroyed much of the pub and saw the council removed the license from Les, its famous West Indian landlord.
Hopefully open by August 2019, an upstairs restaurant will offer a more refined setting, with any excess meat and vegetables used to produce pies for the downstairs pub.
