Speciality cannabis craft beer brewery, Green Times Brewing, has partnered with Leeds-based Northern Monk for the Manchester launch of its new Green Heathen IPA, that contains cannabis oil.
A twist on Northern Monk’s flagship Heathen New England IPA beer, this 7.2% ABV ale boasts 10mg CBD (cannabidiol) per pint; a legal supplement derived from the cannabis plant, that’s currently used by over 250,000 people in the UK to "improve general health and wellbeing."

If, like us, you are questioning how adding CBD to a 7.2% ale would help improve your general health, then the press release goes on to say, "It’s possible that by boosting liver function, CBD can help the liver process alcohol more effectively, thus reducing hangovers. CBD and cannabis also have well-researched anti-inflammatory effects, which may counter the inflammatory effects of alcohol."
It is the second cannabis beer to be released by the North London cannabis craft brewer, following on from High Flyer, the UK’s first session IPA with cannabis oil, which launched in 2018.
