The Midland Hotel is set to get a massive £14m transformation, with a new lobby bar and a full makeover for casual dining restaurant Mr Cooper's House & Garden.
Work on the 2 AA Rosette restaurant is already underway, with the popular venue temporarily closed during the refurbishment. It is expected to be renamed, with the menu overhauled in favour of a more casual Mancunian influenced bistro offering.
CGI images released show some of the exciting changes in store:
On the other side of The Midland's lobby, The Octagon Lounge is also set for a major refurb, with the bar extended into the main reception area of the historic 4 star hotel, which should create a more welcoming space.
Other than the immediate bar area outside its entrance, there are no plans to change the hotel's jewel in the crown, the 4 AA Rosette restaurant, Adam Reid at The French; the highest accredited restaurant in the UK not to have a Michelin Star, and still no.1 on Restaurants Of Manchester Best Restaurants in Manchester list.
