Following on from the news in May that San Carlo are set to open a Champagne Bar at The Trafford Centre, we now learn the outlet in Selfridges will welcome its first guests at the end of July.
The interior will be a celebration of Italian craft, luxury and beauty, with a sculptural 20 foot wide ‘cloud’ chandelier floating over the elegant marble bar, where guests can take a seat or choose a table in the lounge seating area with bespoke silver ice buckets.
Inspired by bubbling champagne, the chandelier will be comprised of 1000 individual cast glass discs, each one hand made in the Veneto region of Italy.

The all day venue will serve more than ten choices of champagne and prosecco alongside wine, cocktails and 18 of the best gins from Manchester and across the globe.
An all day menu offers luxurious nibbles and sharing plates to refined sandwiches, salads, Colchester rock oysters, caviar, Burrata and San Carlo’s signature homemade speciality cakes and ice cream.
The new opening will see San Carlo number at least one venue (six in total) in every Selfridges store across the UK.
The Manchester restaurant group, which was founded in Birmingham as a family business by Carlo Distefano in 1992, has grown to 21 venues in Manchester, Birmingham Cheshire, Liverpool, Leeds, Roundhay, Bristol, Leicester, London, Qatar, Riyadh, Bahrain and Bangkok - with plans for a Manchester Airport offering in the pipeline too.
