Northern Quarter pancake house, Alabama's All American Eatery, which reopened twelve months ago, following a kitchen fire in August 2018, has been kicked out by its landlord with four years left to run on their tenancy.
Plans to turn the Newton Street building into an office block also forced the closure of their next door neighbour, Jimmy's, on the 30th November, however the family-ran cafe was caught unaware they were also affected by the changes and even spent £100,000 of the fire insurance money into repairing and reopening the venue.

The landlord has offered them the opportunity to move back into the redeveloped site, just off Piccadilly Gardens, in 12 months' time, but with an increase in rent.
For now, they have moved around the corner, setting up a pop-up kitchen in the Northern Monk Refectory on Tariff Street, with later opening hours from 09:00 until 20:00 daily.
